Loud, bright and constantly busy, especially after dark when Bangla Road turns into the island's main nightlife strip. During the day, the beach itself is wide and popular, with jet ski and parasailing operators lining the shore.
Who it suits
Travellers who want everything within walking distance — restaurants, shopping, nightlife, tour desks — and don't mind noise and crowds in exchange for convenience.
Getting around from Patong
Songthaews (shared pickup-truck taxis) run between Patong and Phuket Town on a fixed route. Metered taxis, tuk-tuks and ride-hailing apps cover everywhere else.
