Phuket hotels directory

A growing, honest directory of the island's resorts and hotels.

A working directory of Phuket's hotel scene, organised by area rather than as an unsorted list — the area you pick matters more here than almost any other single decision, so we've structured this around that first. Where a named property anchors an area, we've named it — these are real, established hotels, not placeholders.

Patong & nearby

  • Large international beachfront resort chains along Patong's main beach road — highest prices, maximum convenience, maximum noise. Amari Phuket and Novotel Phuket Vintage Park sit within this tier.
  • Mid-range hotel clusters set back from the beach, a short walk to the strip and Bangla Road
  • Budget guesthouses concentrated toward Patong's northern end, away from the nightlife core

Karon & Kata

  • Hillside resorts with sea-view rooms overlooking Kata Noi's small crescent bay — Katathani Phuket Beach Resort is the best-known name on this stretch, alongside Novotel Phuket Kata Avista and Beyond Resort Kata.
  • Family resort chains with dedicated kids' clubs along Karon's long, wide beach — Centara Karon Resort and Centara Grand Beach Resort are established options here.
  • Mid-range beachfront hotels with a noticeably calmer atmosphere than Patong at similar price points

Bang Tao, Layan & the north-west

  • Sprawling luxury resort estates within the Laguna Phuket complex — Banyan Tree Phuket, Angsana Laguna Phuket and Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket all share the lagoon system covered in our Bang Tao guide.
  • All-villa resort properties aimed at families and longer stays
  • A smaller cluster of quieter, boutique-scale properties around Layan, including Trisara and Amanpuri at the very top of the market

Kamala & Surin

  • Mid-range and upscale hotels along Kamala's calmer stretch of coast
  • High-end beach-club-adjacent properties around Surin, generally the island's most expensive per-night pricing — The Surin Phuket and Twin Palms anchor this tier, alongside Marriott's Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach a little further south.

Cape Panwa & Cape Yamu

  • Secluded east-coast luxury on Cape Panwa — Sri Panwa and Cape Panwa Hotel are the established names, both covered in our Cape Panwa guide.
  • COMO Point Yamu anchors the quieter Cape Yamu peninsula covered in our dedicated guide.

Mai Khao & Nai Yang

  • Large resort properties near the airport, including JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa and Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach — see our Mai Khao & Nai Yang guide for the area itself.
  • Indigo Pearl and Sala Phuket sit within the same stretch, aimed at travellers wanting quiet plus airport proximity.

Rawai, Nai Harn & the south

  • Boutique and mid-range hotels with a more local, less resort-driven feel
  • A handful of higher-end properties directly on Nai Harn's beach

Old Phuket Town

  • Restored shophouse boutique hotels — see our dedicated Old Town guide
  • Simple guesthouses aimed at travellers prioritising the town's café and gallery scene over beach access

Full individually reviewed property profiles are the next layer we're building into this directory. The names above are real, established properties correctly placed by area — for current pricing, room types and availability, cross-check any specific property directly on a booking platform.
