Thailand's craft beer scene has grown considerably in recent years, and Phuket has a small but genuine presence within it.
What's available
A handful of local breweries and brewpubs produce their own beer on-site or nearby, alongside imported craft beer now stocked at a growing number of bars beyond the standard Thai lagers (Singha, Chang, Leo) found everywhere.
Legal context
Thailand's alcohol production laws have historically restricted small-scale brewing, which is part of why the craft beer scene here is smaller and newer than in some neighbouring countries — regulations have loosened somewhat in recent years, allowing more small producers to operate legally.
Where to find it
Craft-focused bars are concentrated around Patong, Kata and parts of Old Phuket Town — worth asking specifically for "craft beer" (bia craft) rather than assuming a random bar stocks anything beyond the mainstream Thai brands.
