Day trip vs overnight
A single day trip from Phuket involves significant drive time each way, leaving a few hours at the park itself — enough for a lake tour but little else. An overnight stay in one of the park's floating raft houses allows for a jungle trek and more time on the water, at the cost of an extra night away from your Phuket base.
Is it worth the drive?
For travellers who've already covered Phuket's own islands and beaches and want genuinely different scenery, yes — but it's a full-day (or overnight) commitment, not a casual half-day add-on.
