Service types, destination availability and acceptance rules can change, so ask staff for the current options for your country rather than relying on an old delivery-time table.
Couriers suit urgent or valuable shipments
International courier companies can be useful for documents, business items or purchases where tracking and predictable handling matter more than price. Compare the actual door-to-door service, insurance or declared-value terms and destination customs handling rather than only the headline transit estimate.
Pack for the journey, not the shop counter
International parcels may be stacked, transferred and inspected multiple times. Use a strong box, protect fragile items, remove empty space and keep liquids well sealed. Passports and irreplaceable original documents deserve a secure, trackable service and a clear understanding of the carrier's liability. If a consulate, insurer or authority has instructed you to send an original, follow its specified method rather than choosing an ordinary untracked letter to save money.
Give yourself time before departure
If you need help with packing, customs forms or a rejected item, do it before your final airport run. Shipping on the last evening leaves little room to fix paperwork or find an alternative carrier.
